Memorial Day: The Stories We Carry

Dear Reader,

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our freedom.

As I reflect on Memorial Day, I find myself thinking about something deeper than history.

I think about the stories we carry.

Many veterans returned home carrying experiences they rarely spoke about—grief, fear, loss, guilt, heartbreak, and the emotional weight of war.

Some families felt the effects for generations.

Children and grandchildren sometimes grow up sensing patterns they can't quite explain:

Anxiety that seems to have no clear source.

A fear of loss.

A tendency to stay hypervigilant.

Difficulty feeling safe, supported, or at peace.

While every person's experience is unique, many healing practitioners believe that emotional patterns can sometimes be passed through family lines, influencing future generations in ways we don't always recognize.

One of the most fascinating things I see in Emotion Code sessions is when clients discover emotional baggage that doesn't seem to belong to their own life story.

Sometimes what you're carrying may not have started with you.

And if that's true, it means you don't have to keep carrying it.

Healing can become a gift not only to yourself but to your children and future generations as well.

This Memorial Day, as we honor those who served, I invite you to consider:

What emotional burdens are you ready to release?

What would life feel like if you no longer carried the weight of fear, grief, or survival mode?

If you haven't booked a session in a while, this may be the perfect time for a reset.

Sessions are available this week for returning clients.

Simply reply to this email or send me a text or DM to reserve your spot.

Here's to honoring the past while creating a lighter future.

With love,

Your friend and trauma-informed mentor,

@HealwithConni

Hi Reader, One of the biggest myths about emotional pain is this: “I’ll deal with it when I have time to really work through it.” But what if healing isn’t about time? What if it’s about what’s already stored in your body? Trapped emotions don’t wait for a convenient moment. They settle in — quietly shaping how you feel, how you react, how you show up in your relationships. Think about it. If working harder on yourself automatically created peace… Every person who’s read every self-help book...

Dear Reader, As we wrap up our June Summer Healing Series on Family, I want to leave you with one powerful reminder: Conflict isn’t the enemy. How we respond to conflict is what shapes our relationships. Every disagreement gives us a choice. Will we react from old wounds… or respond from healing? Many of us learned unhealthy ways of handling conflict without realizing it. Maybe you learned to avoid difficult conversations. Maybe you shut down to protect yourself. Maybe you raised your voice...

Dear Reader, Conflict is a normal part of every relationship. But when your partner is angry, frustrated, or emotionally overwhelmed, it's easy to get pulled into the storm with them. What starts as a simple disagreement can quickly become two people reacting from hurt instead of responding from love. As part of our Summer Healing Series on Family, let's talk about emotional regulation and healthy communication. Here are 4 tips when speaking to a partner who is angry: Regulate yourself...
